Maayan Kharitonov
Piano
Maayan Kharitonov is a dedicated pianist and music educator who has been studying piano since the age of three. She began the Royal Conservatory of Music program at age nine and completed her Grade 10 certification during high school before dedicating the past several years to advanced ARCT studies in Performance, Harmony, Counterpoint, and Analysis.
Alongside her classical piano training, Maayan has developed a strong interest in music composition and hopes to continue pursuing composition studies in the future. She is especially passionate about Romantic-era repertoire and enjoys performing works by composers such as Frédéric Chopin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Sergei Rachmaninoff, whose music continues to inspire her artistic growth. Following her ARCT Performance Exam, she continued studying with her professor to further expand her repertoire across a wide range of musical eras and styles.
As a teacher, Maayan enjoys working with students of all ages and believes that every student learns differently. She values creating an encouraging and supportive learning environment while adapting her teaching approach to fit each individual student’s needs and goals. She finds the process of discovering how each student learns best both rewarding and creatively engaging, comparing it to putting puzzle pieces together.
Maayan is passionate about helping students build confidence, musical understanding, and a genuine enjoyment of music through both technical development and artistic expression.
